Island Picnic getaway to Vavvaru' Corallion Lab' - A scenic 30-minute dhoni ride across the vast Kanifushi Lagoon lays the tiny private island of Vavvaru. Opened in April 2013 this is new marine station is dedicated to coral research within the Maldives. There is a purpose built wet lab for tank based experiments which has sea water flow through and a dry lab adjacent with high quality research equipment including fluorescence and stereo micro scope, micro-centrifuges, autoclaves and DNA extraction facilities.
Relax on its soft white beaches and enjoy the salty breeze, enjoy a picnic basket with an assortment of food, snacks and beverages at the beautiful island of Vavvaru will be provided as you spend half a day enjoying the naturally beautiful island of Vavvaru.
